Experience

CRM Specialist – L’Oreal Australia

Mar 2024 – Aug 2024

During my working holiday visa I secured a 6-month contract within L’Oreal Australia’s luxury (LUXE) division.

This role involved aiding several high-performing teams amongst popular beauty brands including Lancome, Yves St-Laurent, Giorgio Armani and Kiehl’s. The bulk of the work focused on copywriting and proofreading for email campaigns alongside upgrading their CRM experience using Litmus – a third party software which provided improved personalisation for customers.

This role was a real step-up in scale from Decathlon, with hundreds of staff, various marketing teams and huge audiences across Australia and New Zealand.

CRM & Direct Marketing Leader- Decathlon

Apr 2022 – Oct 2023

Decathlon is the world’s largest sports retailer, with 2080 stores in 56 countries.

As part of the wider digital marketing team I was in charge of developing a stronger relationship with Decathlon’s large customer base. This was achieved primarily through email marketing (with over 125,000 subscribers), push notifications and the loyalty program set up in 2023.

As the role progressed I moved into providing marketing copy for social media, product descriptions, events and anywhere else a friendly and true-to-brand voice was required.

Manager & Marketing Specialist – Vanda Art Gallery

2014 – 2021

Beginning as a physical art retail store in which I saw over 4 staff in all day-to-day aspects of running a small business; by 2019 we began expanding online using Shopify E-commerce.
The pandemic accelerated this process, in 2020 I began the MSc in Digital Marketing and immediately put the skills learned to use.

By 2021 we sold art exclusively via www.vandaluddy.com and received over 1200 orders. I used a combination of paid social media ads, PPC, SEO optimisation and email marketing to help achieve this.

By December 2021 I had established all of our art/print production to be completed via dropshipping with a UK company (ThePrintSpace.co.uk) allowing me to step back from my role and pursue new opportunities.

Digital Marketing Intern – IDA Ireland

Oct – Dec 2020

As part of the MSc Digital Marketing I was assigned to work on IDA Ireland’s medical technology sector. This involved creating a host of online marketing materials including landing pages, CTA’s, kickback and promotional emails, gifs, blog posts and downloadable reports.

In addition to creation of all of these materials, I was also tasked to fully assess IDA Ireland’s digital strategy in the life sciences sector. This included assessments of all of their social media channels followed by extensive market research (including creating several buyer personas).

Working with IDA Ireland gave me a thorough and broad grounding in B2B marketing.

Digital Marketing Intern – FoodSocial.ie

Jan – May 2021

Food Social is an Irish digital marketing agency, specifically aimed at the food/hospitality industry.

This project involved a full scale web and SEO audit of Food Social’s website (using tools such as SEOptimer & SEMRush) to identify any areas requiring improvement.

Following this, I was tasked to create a PPC proposal, both justifying the need to employ PPC and finding potential niche target markets. I provided bidding strategies and identified the principal keywords, keyphrases and negative keywords to utilise.

My final project (in which I was awarded 1st overall within the MSc) was a full digital marketing proposal for Food Social, aimed specifically at smaller coffee vendors and vans who had sprouted up around Ireland during the pandemic.

Digital Marketing Intern – Nuasan

Oct – Dec 2020

Nuasan is a Galway-based startup specialising in natural skincare products.

Working for Nuasan was a ground-up approach, beginning with market research, competitor analysis, questionnaire distribution and social listening. Customer journey and empathy maps were also created for increased insight into Nuasan’s target market.

This was followed with the creation of a 12-month social media marketing calendar, noting any key events Nuasan could be present at and any influencers who may wish to collaborate. Creating this calendar required vast amounts of content which reflected Nuasan’s unique selling point: natural, cruelty-free skincare.

Photoshop / Design

Using Adobe Photoshop for years at Vanda Art Gallery to produce high quality limited edition prints eventually lead me to growing more and more curious with Photoshop, familiarising myself with the wide range of tools available.

This sparked an eventual fascination with graphic design, photomanipulation and all other areas of digital design.

I would fully attribute the skills I learned using Photoshop and Canva to giving me the edge I needed to achieve a 1:1 grade in the MSc Digital Marketing at the University of Galway some years later.
